An independent floristry studio, Celandine was founded by floral designer and studio owner Claire Sylvester, and has a focus on garden-style floral designs nodding towards seasonality and nature through delicately nuanced palettes, gently wiggling stems and the very beautiful conversations and stories held in the space between flowers.

With a naturalistic approach at heart and a desire to design with the seasons in mind - using locally sourced and organically ‘slow grown’ flowers whenever possible - we offer tailored services and floral designs for weddings, events and commercial collaborations. We are also able to offer bespoke floristry workshops hosted in our bright and welcoming north Edinburgh studio.

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland but always open and ever-willing for floral adventures further afield.

Celandine is me, Claire. I came to floristry following a twenty-year career path that wandered from art history, to arts journalism and latterly arts fundraising. Flowers had forever held my attention, but it took a lockdown to show me how much I needed them. Now, as a floral designer, I’m lucky that I can call on my past trainings and professions for a vivid appreciation of aesthetic beauty and a keen sense of colour and hue, an ability to encourage nurtured relationships and a heartfelt interest in properly listening to what people need and what people want. Today I can bring all of those learnings to where I am now - but now with my hands full of blooms and falling head over heels in love with flowers again and again everyday. Joyous.

A proud member of Ochre Botanical Studios.

LONG AS THERE ARE VIOLETS,
THEY WILL HAVE A PLACE IN STORY:
THERE IS A FLOWER THAT SHALL BE MINE,
'TIS THE LITTLE CELANDINE.
